Day 1

We are online and our bikes together! The first day promises to be a good one with a 63 mile ride to Methven, a little ski town north on HW 73 from Christchurch. We have ruined our camera actually (we packed it next to the chain de-greaser and it seems to have leaked into our lens!). So no pictures until we have figured out what to do about the situation. Our little backpacker lodge was perfect for bike assembly with a big courtyard in the middle to spread out all the pieces. They will also watch after our boxes for three weeks until we head to the north island. Things are coming together...
